I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A MOMENT AND ASK YOU, BUYERS OF MOE’S MEATS, TO VOTE FOR ME, MAJI.
A LOT OF WHAT I DO HERE AT MOE’S MEATS IS BEHIND THE SCENES. LIKE IN A MOVIE. I MAY NOT BE THE MOVIE STAR, BUT WITHOUT ME THERE WOULD BE NO MOVIE.

MY ROOMATE, OWNER OF MOE’S MEATS, HAS GIVEN ME A LOT OF RE-SPONS-ABILITY THAT HE DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE. THAT IS FINE, I LOVES HIM ANYWAY.

Every year Moe’s Meats takes their inventory low and does a deep clean on all their freezers (we have 3). This is Satchel (aka Moe) doing his part.

dear meat eaters and buyers,

i am on summer vacation until august 12, at which time i’ll like, return from camp. camp is where i, you know, hone my lion hunting skills to protect ne portland from lions. if you, like, live in ne portland, then you know that you haven’t seen lions around.

my roommate, maji, will be staying in ne portland to protect Moe’s Meats meat supply. she has hired a personal companion, to feed and walk her while i, satchel wheaton, am at summer camp.

my roommate will not be taking meat orders during this time. if you need meat, call or email and Meat Woman will get back to you on august 12.

Allergies are super common among dogs, especially allergies to wheat. Their systems react the same way to repetitive foods as humans, they develop an intolerance to that food. If you were to eat wheat everyday and at every meal, chances are high that you would become sensitive to wheat – same with dogs.

A diet of raw meat can help that situation. Start giving your dog 3/4 their regular diet and 1/4 raw meat. AT the very least, stick with half kibble and half meat – that might help the situation. If it doesn’t then transition fully to the raw meat diet.

When digging through the deep freezer in the garage, protecting my hands is critical. I wear gloves all the time and keep warm with a wool sweater. Isn’t it nice to know this?

What will happen at Moe’s Meats in 2009?

• T-shirts! Not just t-shirts, but MEAT POETRY t-shirts. If you have a preference as to which of Satchel’s poems you would like on your shirt, let me know. (You can click the underlined words in the tag cloud to the right to view his entire published poetry collection). We’ll have girl cut t-shirts (thank god) and boy shirts as well.

 

• More poetry. The public has requested and Satchel will deliver.

 

• More marketing. Satchel plans on publishing fliers and brochures to folks to help educate the masses on the advantages of the raw meat diet and why buying from Moe’s is the most economical way to feed raw to your dog and cat.

 

• Moe’s Meats will look into shipping meat out of state. So those of you in California, Virginia and Washington…..you’ll be receiving shipping details shortly.
