Cod liver oil.
Made with love.
The first aspect of fish oil that you should know is that it’s best (and usually cheaper) to feed your dog and cat fish oil made for humans. What you buy at your grocery store should be unflavored and cold pressed – those are the two most important things to look for. But why? Why is fish oil good for pets?
Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids which are excellent for preventing and treating a range of issues – arthritis, kidney disease, allergies, joints, skin, immune system – the list goes on. It’s super healthy for your pet, you just need to ensure you are giving the correct dose.
There is an established dosage for dogs (but not yet cats), but please always consult with your lovely holistic vet. A dose between 20-55mg combined EPA and DHA per pound of weight is safe for pups.
So, pour that cold pressed, wild caught, fish oil made for humans over your dog and cat’s raw meat and feel good that you are giving your pet a healthy meal.
